The vegan scene has exploded in Glenelg over the last couple of years! I grew up in the area, and now frequently visit for the library, attending book club, or engaging in write ins. It’s one of my favourite places to take tourists in South Australia, as it’s so close to the airport – and amazing!
While there are plenty of activities in Glenelg, this post is just a list of all the places you can find great vegan meals around Jetty Road.
RAW Conscious Eatery
2/2 Chapel St, Glenelg
This vegetarian eatery has an awesome range for whatever you’re feeling like. I love their veggie burger! They also stock Live A Little gelato, which is to die for. They have a huge range of treats in their display cabinet, and there’s some gorgeous smoothie bowls. These peeps close by 4pm each day, so they’re best for brunches, lunches, or afternoon tea. Follow the sign for RAW near the church, down Chapel St on the southern side of Jetty Rd.
Lords of the Fries
33 Jetty Rd, Glenelg
This fast food franchise is totally vegan! There are a number of burgers on often, but I love their choc-peanut milkshakes. My husband’s favourite is the halal snack pack, which I’m quite partial to as well. On Uber Eats for extra convenience, plus open until 9:30pm or later every night!
Zest Cafe Gallery
2a Sussex St, Glenelg
Zest Cafe has a few tasty vegan options, but the reason they’re first on my list is because of the lovely staff. They’re very accommodating to veganism, including often having cakes on offer. They also super-super nice to puppies, and is the place I will generally choose to go if I have a dog in toe. You’ll find Zest on the northern side of Jetty Rd.
The Annex Cafe
3 Waterloo St, Glenelg
The Annex has a lot of vegetarian options, several vegan options, and plenty of raw desserts in their cabinet. Their shop has a great atmosphere, and heaps of outdoor seating (good for dining with dogs!).
Bomdia Bowls
2b Moseley St, Glenelg
Located on the southern side of Jetty Rd, this little store is an Acia Bar. Open until 8pm, so a great place to go for desserts (though closing times vary, so check Facebook). They offer smoothie bowls and a cabinet full of sweet treats.
